What is productive play?
Sometimes called pretend play or role play, productive play is one of the most developmentally powerful types of play for young children. When a child takes an order at a play café or fixes something with a toy tool, they're practising language, problem-solving, empathy, sequencing, and social negotiation — all at once. It's play that looks like play but builds like learning.
